Literary discussion with Pola Oloixarac in Puerto del Carmen
At the Lanzarote Literature Festival, the Argentine writer and essayist Pola Oloixarac will speak about literature in the age of the internet, artificial intelligence and the information overload. The topics will include the formation of identity, desire and the challenges facing contemporary literature. Carlos Battaglini will moderate the discussion. Admission is free, but registration via fdll.es is required.

The discussion will focus on the question of what place literature has in a present-day world shaped by technology, digital culture and a changing understanding of the world. Pola Oloixarac will talk about how stories today engage with these developments and what new forms of identity-building are emerging as a result.
The evening will be moderated by the writer Carlos Battaglini, director of the Festival de literatura de Lanzarote. The discussion will also cover Oloixarac's career and her points of reference.
Pola Oloixarac was born in Buenos Aires in 1977. The writer and essayist has published, amongst other works, the novels “Las teorías salvajes”, “Las constelaciones oscuras” and “Mona”. Her work has been translated into many languages and explores the relationship between technology, science, politics, philosophy and culture.
The event will take place at the Centro Cívico El Fondeadero in Puerto del Carmen. Admission is free, but registration via the festival website is required.
