To mark the start of the fourth edition of the Festival de Literatura de Lanzarote, Ray Loriga will speak in Arrecife about the themes that characterise his work: emotional fragility, the contradictions of the present day, and those nuances that arise between silence, relationships and cities that never find peace. The conversation offers an insight into the world of an author whose books have shaped several generations of readers.
The evening will be moderated by Carlos Battaglini, writer and director of the festival. He will guide Loriga through his career, his creative process and the recurring themes in his writing. The opening event is therefore not billed as a reading, but as a conversation about the work and outlook of a major contemporary author.
Ray Loriga was born in Madrid in 1967 and works as a novelist and screenwriter. His best-known works include “Lo peor de todo”, “Héroes”, “Tokio ya no nos quiere” and “Rendición”, which won the Premio Alfaguara de Novela in 2017. According to the announcement, his books revolve around identity, loneliness and the contradictions of the present day, and have been translated into numerous languages.
The event will take place on Thursday, 8 October 2026, at 19:30 at the CIC El Almacén in Arrecife. Admission is free, but advance registration is required.
