This production brings Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro" to the stage as an "opera buffa" in four acts. At its heart is a house full of secrets, where the masters and the servants find themselves living in close quarters. From this comic tone emerges a plot centred on humiliation, freedom, jealousy and a system whose injustice is apparent to all.
Pablo González is the musical director, with Marta Pazos directing. The creative team includes Silvia Aurea De Stefano as assistant director for the revival, Max Glaenzel for set design, Nuno Meira for lighting, Agustín Petronio for costumes and Andreas Heise for choreography. Rober Gómez is responsible for the choreographic revival, and Miguel Ángel Arqued is the chorus master.
The cast features Leonor Bonilla as Susanna, Jan Antem as Figaro, José Antonio López as Count Almaviva, Lianna Haroutounian as Countess Almaviva and Rafael Quirant as Cherubino. Other roles are sung by Léontine Maridat-Zimmerlin, Wojtek Gierlach, David Barrera, Ruth González, Cristian Díaz, Alberto Ballesta, Arantxa Cooper and Aida Briceño. The performance features the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and the Coro Titular Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo, with the Centro Internacional de Danza Tenerife also taking part. The production is by the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Auditorio de Tenerife.
A free TITSA bus transfer service is available from the north and south for subscribers attending the opera performances. Once the performance has started, no further admission will be permitted. Admission is restricted to visitors aged five and over.
