Los Gigantes

Los Gigantes is part of the municipality of Santiago del Teide. The town is situated in the west of Tenerife. Its name translates as ‚the Giants‘. It owes its name to the impressive cliffs. The cliffs rise vertically out of the sea to a height of up to 450 metres. The rocks known as ‚Los Acantilados de Los Gigantes‘ are, quite literally, gigantic basalt columns. Various boat trips offer the chance to get a closer look at the cliffs of Los Gigantes from the sea. They are among the highest cliffs in Europe.
