The body of a man with a cut to his neck was found in the early hours of Wednesday morning in a house in the Almatriche neighbourhood of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where a woman was found with stab wounds and was taken to hospital.
According to sources within the National Police, the woman, who also had various cuts and stab wounds, has been taken to a hospital in the city, although the sources consulted were unaware of her condition.
The police have stated that, as yet, it cannot be confirmed that this is a case of gender-based violence.

The Forensic Police are at the scene, where they are awaiting the arrival of the judicial delegation.
A neighbour alerted the 112 emergency services at around 4.45 am on Wednesday after hearing a woman screaming for help from inside the house, prompting the National Police to be called out to the scene.
