UD Las Palmas
UD Las Palmas is the football club based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and, for many on the island, is far more than just a club. It was founded in 1949 through the merger of five clubs in the city. In 1969, the club finished as runners-up in the Primera División. UD Las Palmas play their home matches at the Estadio de Gran Canaria in the Siete Palmas district, in front of a crowd of around 30,000, wearing yellow and blue. Following promotion in 2023, the club returned to the Primera División, but were relegated in 2025 and now compete in the second tier. The Canary Islands derby against CD Tenerife remains a special highlight. You can find all the latest news about the club here. You can also access our other sports news here.
