UD Las Palmas announced on Monday evening that Rubén de la Barrera had been sacked as manager of the island club’s first team, following their latest defeat, a 3-1 loss away to RCD Mallorca on Sunday, on matchday nine of LaLiga Hypermotion.
The Galician manager, who joined the Yellow side last June, thus brings his spell in charge of the Gran Canaria side to an end, leaving them with 11 points following three wins, two draws and four defeats.
On an interim basis, the team will be taken in charge by the experienced local manager Juan Manuel Rodríguez, who until now has been in charge of Las Palmas Atlético, the reserve side competing in Group 4 of the Segunda Federación.
