The beach is eerily empty. It’s usually very popular, particularly with families.

A handful of visitors are using the sun loungers to sunbathe. Nobody is going into the water.

Silent witnesses to this involuntary tranquillity, however, are scattered all over the beach.

If you look closely, you’ll spot many such remnants of ‚business as usual‘.

The water, on the other hand, looks perfectly normal. But the readings are off. Regular water samples are to be taken so that Playa La Lajilla (Costa Alegre) in Arguineguín can be reopened as soon as possible.
