Teide summit permits move to a new booking website

Walkers heading for the peak must now apply through the Cabildo's new platform, which also covers guided hikes and routes up to the cable car top station and lists current conditions and safety advice.

The Tenerife Island Council has moved the registration process for climbing to the summit of Mount Teide to a new website. From now on, hikers must use the website to apply for their permits.

Until now, bookings have been made via the Island Council’s own platform. The new rules also apply to walks from the national park to the summit station. According to those responsible, the change is intended to simplify the booking process and improve the management of visitor numbers.

The platform records all bookings for access to the summit. The new rules also apply to guided hikes. The Mount Teide authorities regularly check that the regulations are being followed.

The authorities have stated that the switch to the new platform is part of a comprehensive digitalisation process. The aim is to ensure the protection of the national park and to better manage visitor numbers. In addition to registration, the platform also provides information on current conditions and safety advice.
