Los Realejos Romería turns a pilgrimage into a street party

Declared an event of national tourist interest, the procession on 25 May sees images of San Isidro Labrador and Santa María de la Cabeza carried on shoulders, with decorated ox carts and food handed out along the route.

The Romería in Los Realejos on Tenerife is one of the most important events in the Canary Islands' festival calendar. It has been declared an event of national tourist interest. It's that time of year again on 25 May: here are the best photos:
