Puerto de la Cruz reopens its rebuilt seafront promenade

The stretch between Calle de Santo Domingo and the San Telmo chapel has been largely rebuilt, with step-free access via a new ramp and more room for shop displays and cafe tables. Work began in 2014 and finished in mid-2015.

Palm trees add a touch of lightness to the new promenade. A ramp has also been built to ensure the path is accessible to all.

The focus of the work was on ensuring that the new promenade in Puerto de la Cruz was built to be accessible. This is becoming increasingly important in the competition to attract international tourists. However, there was another aspect that was also very important to those in charge: the local cafés should be given the opportunity to set up more outdoor tables without obstructing the flow of passers-by. Shops, too, should therefore be able to extend their display areas outwards. And this project was a great success. Here you can find further and detailed information on the construction of the new promenade in Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife.
