There’s always something going on in the town during the fiestas. Lots of visitors also flock to Puerto from the surrounding area at that time.
A little further along the promenade lies Playa Martianez, which marks the eastern boundary of Puerto de la Cruz. Surfers and wave riders in particular feel right at home here. However, the town is working hard to make the beach more appealing to swimmers too. If you click on the image, it will open in full size and you’ll be able to see the entire panorama.Right at the other end of the town lies Puerto’s second sandy beach, Playa Jardin. It’s usually quite busy during the day, but in the afternoon it tends to get a bit quieter – just like here.Incidentally, Playa Jardín (literally: ‚Garden Beach‘) owes its name to its lush vegetation. Visitors now have more space to stroll and an unobstructed view of the sea.
