The airline Binter has secured a financing agreement worth 510 million dollars (455 million euros) to purchase a further nine E195-E2 aircraft from the Brazilian company Embraer, which will be delivered in stages from 2027 onwards.

The financing agreement has been finalised with a consortium comprising Spain’s leading banks, Santander, CaixaBank and BBVA, to develop its fleet expansion programme for the coming financial years, as announced by Binter in a statement on Monday.

To carry out this transaction, the airline adds that it has received legal advice from two leading specialist firms, Deloitte and KPMG.

Binter: New Embraer aircraft strengthen connections to the Canary Islands

Binter’s chairman, Rodolfo Núñez, and its deputy chairman, Alfredo Morales, have finalised the agreement with the three banks mentioned; through this transaction, the airline will invest 510 million dollars in the purchase of a total of nine E195-E2 aircraft, which will be delivered in stages from 2027 onwards.

Rodolfo Núñez states in this regard that these new acquisitions are in line with the airline’s mission to ensure the best air connectivity for the Canary Islands, both within and outside the archipelago, with «a clear commitment to public service that will enable us to continue contributing to the economic and social development of our islands».

Nuñez points out that Binter remains committed to operating a type of aircraft that is in line with the airline’s competitive positioning, offering a distinctive service and the best value proposition for its customers.

For his part, the airline’s vice-president, Alfredo Morales, expressed his gratitude for the confidence shown by the leading national banks in the company’s fleet acquisition operations, which enable it to bring «our way of flying to ever more destinations whilst staying true to our essence».

The Embraer E195-E2 offers 132 seats with no middle seat

The E195-E2 is the largest model in Embraer’s E2 E-Jets family and stands out for its industry-leading efficiency and reduced emissions.

This is a state-of-the-art aircraft with a 132-seat configuration, featuring a cabin with ample space between rows in a 2×2 layout, without the uncomfortable middle seat.

Binter's fleet expands to 25 Embraer E195-E2s

Upon delivery of the aircraft in this order, Binter’s fleet will consist of 25 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

«This fleet size enables the airline to continue to ensure a 'robust' flight schedule, where regularity, the reliability of the commercial programme, excellence and punctuality are a priority,» the airline adds.

The new aircraft will be introduced with the aim of further strengthening the airline’s commitment to high-quality connectivity, consolidating the Canary Islands-Africa air hub and expanding the number of flights between the islands that are already operated using this aircraft type at the times when passenger demand is highest.
