Héctor Morán, Drago Canarias’s candidate for the Congress of Deputies for Las Palmas, stated on Saturday that «the only credible and clear proposal» on the Canarian left comes from his party, a far cry from the «arguments and insults» of the national left.
Morán has stated that they are approaching the elections on 29 November with the aim of achieving «the best possible result» and representing «the only pro-sovereignty, progressive, revitalised, transparent and dignified candidacy» for the people of the Canary Islands.
«We’re going all out. We believe these will be the most unpredictable elections in history, which is why we’re backing a strong candidacy, with clear policy foundations that we have championed over the past four years since our foundation,» explained the candidate.
Drago Canarias: The election manifesto is centred on three key areas
The Drago Canarias candidate for the Congress of Deputies, who has submitted 2,621 signatures to endorse his candidacy, 920 endorsements were required, has stated that the party’s proposal is based on three main pillars: a residency law, the viability of an economic model, and ‚transparent‘ public participation in any decision and proposal they put forward in the Lower House.
Héctor Morán has stated that the only way to re-engage left-wing voters in the Canary Islands is «without trying to deceive people, whilst national left-wing proposals are at loggerheads with one another», just as he claims is happening in Madrid amongst the progressive forces.
Drago Canarias will contest its first elections to the Congress of Deputies on 29 November, standing in the constituencies of Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the party’s president, Alberto Rodríguez, will be the candidate.
