Buses, Transport & Getting Around on Tenerife

Titsa launches three Aeroexpress bus lines to Tenerife’s airports

Aeroexpress 20 links Santa Cruz and La Laguna with Tenerife North for 2.65 euros, Aeroexpress 30 starts in Puerto de la Cruz at 4.75 euros, and Aeroexpress 40 runs from Costa Adeje to Tenerife South for 3.70 euros.

Three new bus routes are set to link the Tenerife North and South airports with the surrounding towns. The new express services run from early morning until late at night. Fares are reasonable.

Whilst discussions are still ongoing in the Canary Islands regarding the introduction of the „Uber“ taxi service, the Tenerife government has, without further ado, taken further steps to improve the public transport network: three new bus routes have been introduced, providing even better bus links to the two airports on the largest of the Canary Islands than was already the case.

The transport company „Titsa“ is now operating the „Aeroexpress“ bus routes 20, 30 and 40. The routes are distinguished by the journey time between the two terminus stops.

The „Aeroexpress 20“ bus route runs every 20 minutes between the coach station in the capital Santa Cruz and Tenerife North Airport (TFN). There is a stop at the bus station in La Laguna. The bus runs from 5.00 am to 0.45 am, Monday to Friday, every 15 to 25 minutes. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the bus runs between 5.40 am and 0.10 am. The fare for the entire journey is €2.65 per person. You can find the exact departure times and restrictions in the timetable. You can find this here on our website.

The new „Aeroexpress 30“ route takes 30 minutes to connect Puerto de la Cruz with the North Airport. For 4.75 euros per person, the service runs from Puerto de la Cruz via the stops at El Risco, Tucón, La Paz, Botánico and La Quinta to TFN Airport. The bus runs throughout the week between 5.40 am and 10.55 pm. From Monday to Friday, services run every 30 minutes; at weekends, the bus runs slightly less frequently. The fare for the entire journey is 2.65 euros per person. You can find the exact departure times and any restrictions in the timetable. You can find this here on our website.

Aeroexpress 40“ is the name of the service running from Costa Adeje to Tenerife South Airport (TFS). For €3.70 per person, the bus runs every 40 minutes between the tourist centre and the larger of Tenerife’s two airports, stopping at Magma, Llanos de Troya, Columbus, Zentral Center El Camisón and Los Cristianos. The service runs every 30 minutes from Monday to Sunday between 7.15 am and 9.15 pm. Please refer to the timetable for exact departure times and any restrictions. You can find the timetable here on our website.

There is no new connection between the north of Tenerife and the southern airport. Express buses and regular services have been operating here for years. The shortest route is provided by Line 343. The bus runs directly from the South Airport to the coach station in Puerto de la Cruz. The journey takes 1 hour 26 minutes and costs 13.55 euros in cash or 9.55 euros with the TenMas card (formerly: Bonobus).

Here’s how you can make big savings in Tenerife with the TenMas ticket, we’ll tell you all about it here. All timetables for the bus network on Tenerife are also available here.
