More than 2,000 athletes tackle Spartan Race obstacles on Tenerife

Competitors from across Europe chose between courses of five, ten and 21 kilometres, with up to 30 obstacles. Crowds gathered along the route, including at the main car park in Puerto de la Cruz.

There was a five-kilometre race with 20 obstacles, a ten-kilometre race with 25 obstacles and a 21-kilometre race with 30 obstacles.

The Spartan Race is about more than just sport. It also offers the chance to explore some of the most beautiful destinations. The event has now been held in Tenerife for the fifth time.
