La Palma has seen diesel prices reach a level 21.6 cents below the Canary Islands average. Within a week, the price of diesel in the west of the Canary Islands rose by 4.7 cents. No other island in the Canary Islands deviates so significantly from the overall average when it comes to diesel.
Diesel currently costs an average of 1.689 euros per litre across all the Canary Islands. This represents a price rise of 1.7 cents within a week. Premium petrol (95 octane) costs an average of 1.541 euros, which is 0.9 cents more. For diesel, four of the eight islands are above the average; for petrol, the figure is five.
Whilst La Palma is currently the most expensive place for diesel vehicles, Fuerteventura offers the cheapest fuel. For premium petrol, La Gomera was the most expensive, whilst Gran Canaria was at the cheaper end of the scale.
Canary Islands: Cheapest petrol stations are well below average
The price difference between the most expensive and the cheapest Canary Islands was 27.4 cents for diesel and 24.5 cents for petrol. Lanzarote is home to the cheapest diesel pump in the archipelago. Prices there are 15.5 cents lower than the island average. Tenerife has the cheapest petrol station for Super 95: it undercuts the island average by 25.8 cents. This difference is greater than the total price range for petrol across all eight islands.
The ranking for diesel prices has hardly changed since the summer: Fuerteventura was already at the top of the list of the cheapest islands back in early August. The following overview shows the current diesel prices, starting with the cheapest Canary Islands:
